Where's Waldo, I mean Walcheck?
safenoe4 January 2021
Michael Beck, who gained fame by co-starring with Olivia Newton-John in Xanadu, plays a very chillingly cool and malevolent murderer in Deadly Games. He'll stop at nothing to get what he wants big time. Thankfully Dr Sloan knows better, and within the framework of Wei-chi'i (Weiqi), he outmasters the murderer.

Victoria Tennant guest stars in this episode.

I like Diagnosis Murder, and it's a shame Norman didn't continue into season 5. Also a shame there was no real explanation for his departure. Norman was ably played by Michael Tucci (not relation to Stanley).

Sloan Plays Wei-ch'i (Go) to beat criminal
kisekigo22 December 2006
In this episode Mark Sloan (Dick van Dyke) has to play Wei-ch'i (Weiqi), more commonly known as Go. He suspects bodyguard Frank Waldeck (Michael Beck) of not being all he seems and plays Go against him to try and suss his strategy. You can find out more about Go at usgo.org or britgo.org

As usual in the best episodes it features a beautiful woman patient who wants to get Mark to work for her, lots of wit and humour and mystery, as well as the odd dead body. Very clever use of Go strategy within the plot.

Excellent episode.
