Harrison B. Harding or Sol Pomerantz?
planktonrules20 November 2023
A man who says he's an old Army buddy of Rob's arrives at the office. However, Rob doesn't recognize him at all and you'd think he'd remember a guy with such an unusual name (Harrison B. Harding). Rob's embarrassment grows when Harrison offers to take Rob and Laura to dinner...and cancels his plane reservations in order to do so. But neither he nor Laura can remember the guy...and that means it's going to be a VERY uncomfortable evening. So why couldn't they remember Harrison??

This is a confusing episode if you've seen later episodes, as Allan Melvin plays BOTH Harrison B. Harding AND Rob's Army buddy Sol Pomerantz in a later installment! However, it's NOT a bad episode...just a case of odd casting.

Overall, a clever episode that manages to take a simple and embarrassing plot and make it very watchable.

With Parents like these ...

One of more than a few dumb episodes in this series but this is near the worse of the lot.

Rob can't simply tell this 'old army buddy' that he can't recall who he is. And so, what better way to address an uneasy situation like this than to invite this person into your home. While there, this stranger and his wife lure Rob and Laura's child into their bedroom!

Creepy. What's more absurd is that Rob and Laura do nothing but listen in through the wall !!! That's a normal parental reaction right ?

The episode caps off with the discovery that Rob couldn't recall Harrison because his face was obscured by a spotlight ! This leaves us to surmise they had no other contact ...if so why did Harrison consider them old army pals. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
