This is one of the best Mountain Man movies that my husband and I have seen! We would love to have it available through commercial marketing! We both do Mountain Man historical re-enacting, and everything from the costumes to the music in the movie is absolutely superb! The fabulous acting and humorous dialog make it a delightful movie for family viewing. This movie captures the spirit of the Mountain Man through the entire Mountain Man Period. It is the best production ever made that represents this classic era. Every Mountain Man historian should own a copy! We and thousands of others would love to buy a copy of this classic.

I don't remember this series as I was born in 1957, but Slim Pickens' character, Old Bill Williams, was William Sherley Williams and my half uncle several generations past. There is a book by Alpheus Favour, "Old Bill Williams MOUNTAIN MAN", Copyright 1936 by The University of North Carolina Press. Some of his facts have since been corrected or questioned, but it is an excellent book and I am proud to say he was my ancestor.
