- Steven Carrington: Look, you heard what I told him. I'm not walking out. I'll be back.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: To visit? It's not the same thing, Steven. It can't be. Now, why can't you just stay? I don't care if we sleep in separate rooms or separate beds. I don't care.
- Steven Carrington: No. I can't do that, not to any of us. Especially not to Danny.
- [emphasizing:]
- Steven Carrington: Not anymore.
- Danny Carrington: [at wedding reception, to his little niece] May I have this dance, Krystina?
- Krystina Carrington: Yes.
- [they do their little turn, and there is laughter all round]
- Adam Carrington: [amused by the children] There's something I haven't told you since we've been married.
- Dana Waring Carrington: [smiling] What?
- Adam Carrington: I love you.
- Dana Waring Carrington: I love you too. Very much.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [upstairs, in her room] I didn't ask you to follow me in here, Steven.
- Steven Carrington: I don't like to see you so unhappy.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Then why are you walking out on me?
- Steven Carrington: Don't you understand? It can't work.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: I love you, and it can work. But I'm sick and tired of lying awake at night, thinking of you and... and what we once had and what we might still have. Steven. Please, just leave me alone. Once and for all, leave me alone.
