- Gordon Wales: Digging up dirt on candidates may be hot right now, but, eh, with all the reaction tonight, I'd be tarred and feathered if I tried to take you on.
- Alexis Carrington Colby: What reaction?
- Gordon Wales: They haven't told you? The phones have been ringing off the hook. You're a heroine. The sympathy and concern is pouring in. You know, I didn't think much of your chances before, but I have a feeling if you ran for the Presidency tonight, you'd give the front runners a run for their money.
- Blake Carrington: Well, lets look at it this way: if that bullet was meant for me, then she saved my life. But she's still got one hell of a fight on her hands, I'll tell you. A fight that I intend to win.
- Steven Carrington: I was just talking to Danny about what he wanted to be when he grows up. He said three things: computer analyst, a lawyer and a rodeo champion. Can you believe this kid? I think we have a very ambitious tyke on our hands. Sammy Jo?
- [she hasn't listened to a word Steven said]
- Steven Carrington: [to Jeff] You've messed up my sisters life, I am not gonna let you do that to Sammy Jo!
- Tony: [grabbing hold of Sammy Jo] I saw the way you looked at me this afternoon.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Let go of me!
- Tony: In this neighborhood, sweetheart, it doesn't work like that. No, in this neighborhood what you show, you owe.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: You're still worried, aren't you?
- Dana Waring Carrington: Well, whoever was on the phone really upset Karen.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: I know. One moment she was happy, and then, I don't know.
- [shakes her head]
- Dana Waring Carrington: Do you think it could have been that newspaper reporter or a lawyer?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: What are you talking about?
- Dana Waring Carrington: Adam's been concerned. Some surrogate mothers are changing their minds about giving up their babies. They're going to court. It's in this morning's paper.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: I don't think Karen's that type of person.
- Dana Waring Carrington: This baby's so important to Adam. And to me.
- [shakes her head]
- Dana Waring Carrington: I just don't want anything to go wrong.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: I really tried to pull it off. I wanted everyone to see that I could make it on my own.
- Jeff Colby: Hey, Sammy Jo, even the biggest corporations have financial trouble.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Jeff, I can't sell this place. I can't. It was my father's.
- Jeff Colby: Then don't. How about some fresh capital to save the day? Capital from a friend?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: A partner?
- Jeff Colby: Yeah, someone close to you. Someone you could trust.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: You can't be serious.
- Jeff Colby: Why not?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [scoffs] Well, you don't know anything about this business.
- Jeff Colby: Well, I do know the free market system, and you don't wanna back away now. Try and corner the market and wait for a turnaround. Besides, I see a big return on my investment. What do you say, partner?
- [offers hand]
- Jeff Colby: Partners?
- [she accepts, giving soft giggle]
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: I guess you're gonna find out sooner or later. Jeff is buying into Delta Rho.
- Steven Carrington: I don't believe it!
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: It was a fair offer, and the bank was advising me to sell off.
- Steven Carrington: Why didn't you come to me?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Because I knew you'd wanna help.
- Steven Carrington: This doesn't make any sense!
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Look, I know you won't understand, but the last thing I wanted to do was use you...
- Steven Carrington: Use me?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Well, maybe that's the wrong word. Look, we're no longer married, and I don't want to be dependent on you anymore. I'll never find myself that way.
- Steven Carrington: But you will with Jeff.
- [eyes narrow]
- Steven Carrington: Is there more than money changing hands between you two?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [angrily] I won't dignify that with an answer. Please leave.
- Tony: [re promotional material] What if I need more than one?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: You can take as many as you like.
- Tony: You know what I'd really like?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Why don't you do us both a favor and keep it to yourself?
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [that guy again] The office is closed.
- Tony: Yeah, that's why I stopped by. This can be a pretty rough neighborhood at night.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Well, that's very nice of you. But I'll be fine.
- Tony: [scoffs] You don't look like the political type to me.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: And just what exactly is the political type?
- Tony: Hey, hey, I didn't mean anything by it. You're beautiful, you know that? Really beautiful.
- [his hand snakes to her shoulder]
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [shrugs him off] Please don't do that.
- Tony: Hey, what's the matter?
- [laughs]
- Tony: I'm not gonna hurt you or anything. I like you. I... It's just I've never met anybody like you before.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Would you please leave?
- Tony: Hey, what the hell is this, the brush-off? You're all the same, aren't you? You little rich girls,
- [his hand on her cheek]
- Tony: you bring it down here, you flaunt it around.
- [she slaps his hand away]
- Tony: I saw the way you looked at me this afternoon.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Let go of me!
- Tony: In this neighborhood, sweetheart, it doesn't work like that. No, in this neighborhood, what you show, you owe.
- [she slaps him through the face]
- Tony: Ooh, rich and hot, I like that!
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: He said that I was looking at him, teasing him.
- Jeff Colby: Come on now, don't be so hard on yourself. You didn't do anything. Why don't you lie down? Close your eyes and get some sleep.
- Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [looking up at him] Thank you for being there again when I needed you.
