The second season continues some time after the events of the previous series.
It is 1942. Dr Martel and Peter Porteous are in prison.
Clare Martel is unstable. No doubt feeling responsible for their predicament. She manages to land herself in more trouble for trespassing on a forbidden part of the island.
Major Richter has not got away cleanly for the way he handled things. Especially the show of leniency.
General Muller comes to see him, partly because SS Officer Reinicke complained.
Reinicke might have got a promotion for his dedication to the Fuhrer. He was not pleased to learn that despite getting chastised, so did Richter.
There are hints that this might be a darker season of Enemy at the Door. Also Reinecke's nastiness might come more to the fore. Especially as the other German offices poke fun of him.
The episode was lukewarm though. It was too talky and had less action.
