When Ren takes Lady Jane on an outing to see "all that America has to offer", they are shown viewing the California State Capitol, the Southern Pacific railway depot in downtown Sacramento, the California Governor's Mansion and the Stanley Mosk Library and Courts building. (The Stevens family live in Sacramento, California, the state capitol.) Their last stop is the Sacramento Hall of Heads (unlike the rest of the landmarks, not an actual place), which Ren refers to as the "Big Heads Museum". There, they hear a short recorded speech by Lieutenant Governor Warren Hardcastle (not an actual California historic person), 'delivered' by a large painting - with moving mouth.
