A long ride for a fully dressed wedding party.

This is a great episode, but one thing puzzles me. If the wedding venue was 3 hours away from the Barone's home, what would compel them to dress in their formal clothes at home? Especially the children. Who in their right minds would dress up children and expect them to stay fresh during a 3 hour car ride?

The wedding scene was absolutely hilarious. The character of Amy was great with the looks.

I loved how they brought all of the characters in and placed them as guests at the wedding. If you look carefully, you will see Bernie, Linda, Gianni, and Andy and also Robert's partner Judy. They have no lines, but are used as guests at the ceremony and the reception. It added a sense of realness.

Pretty Good

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was good and bad. Peter's repeated attempts to sabotage the wedding got to be a little much; his character is so creepy it makes me uncomfortable. Marie standing up in the middle of the ceremony to say something, although typical of Marie, was cringeworthy. The fact that they drove for three hours wearing their wedding attire instead of dressing there was ridiculous and made no sense. I loved it when Marie turned to Frank for confirmation during her interruption speech, and he said he didn't know her. Ray's toast was good, but Amy's mother telling Marie off was great; I wish more people would do that. My very favorite scene was Robert and Amy's dance at the end and their song choice. Overall, one of the better episodes.

Warning: Spoilers
I have seen the 2-part Robert/Amy wedding episodes multiple times and love them each time. Loved Part 2 and Ray's speech in particular, and the nuanced looks of all the characters as Ray is making his speech - particularly Amy as she goes from sad to happy, and the looks between Amy and Robert - and the whole concept of "editing" captured in the photos at the end as well. I also liked seeing a really decent and giving side of Raymond - given that side of him is rarely seen in other episodes. Throughout the series, Robert and Amy were my favorite characters and the arc of this wedding was great. Maybe it's just me, but I found this episode (part 2 in particular) to be brilliant.
