It is with great sadness, i announce, fantasy island on Saturday nights got replaced with A-team and Quatnum leap. My 4th grade teacher poo-pooed both in 87 but yet the station did what they did. Probably cause they kept playing season 7 ones that killed it, but this season 7 episode was pretty good and not just cause it had Belevedere. First story was this guy that looks like the "too close for comfort" Caddyshack guy that had a bad heart and had his family experience the finer life. Such ugly kids (no offense actors who played kids if you read this, i ain't pretty either i guess) but as belvedere said, something like "People who depend on others to appreciate their efforts usually end up disappointed" Brilliant. So his oldest wiener daughter, who i thought might be a guy, but in todays culture is a hero (way to go) is hooked up with some rich guy that he catches her making out with and freaks out. and shes like "but you wanted me to meet someone rich who is after our (fake) riches"/. then his wiener son who looks like Sidney Crosbey writes poetry, which i guess pisses dad off (but hes a hero). long story short, bad heart, he tries to relate to kids. He had a episode with his heart and their was a big talk, i fast forwarded, it saved like five minutes. he asked Ricardo to read a poem his kid read, which is nice, i'd like Ricardo to read my crap i write, and he did, when dad ended up dead and they had to announce it to his wiener kids. It was a horribly stupid poem BTW.
Other story was three women come to the island each with their own Wizard of Oz like problems. Then hot brown haired chic has no smarts, the black chic has no courage, the blond is afraid of love. So basically the black chic is supposed to engage her boss (the i dream of Jeanie guy who does all the face work he did in the show just more older) and the blond meets a guy who isn't what he seems. So the blond meets this guy, and brings him to her place. i kept mixing them up, but i think I'm right, funny thing was , one guy saying something was sexist, but inviting the blond to lunch saying something wasn't (keep in mind i had a lot of beers but it was ironic.) so the blond lady, who looks like shes about to turn old real quick so i questioned the young guys motives and turns out i was right, steals her Beta tape.the whole story she told him was about her not liking love and her 3 year old and husband dying in a crsh. I was like , who wants this mental wreck on Fantasy island?
the woman who wants to be smart sees this and goes to his bungalow. Let me say she was drop dead gorgeous, with her boobs pooping out (sorry guy talk) and of course just shows up and hes like cool with it cause shes hot and doesn't question the oddity that she is all over him, talks "business " with him while putting her leg over his and flaunting her boobs and then grabs that BEta tape and yells at him and leaves , just leaving him to think "Crazy woman" i bet but this should have tipped him off.
Anyhow they all sit together, drink booze and have confidence to achieve their goals. the show doesn't make reference to the booze but rather that they always had it in them so that was dumb.
The show had three commercial breaks with a life alert commercial. But i still want to watch more fantasy islands and make my goal of reviewing all of them . i was glad to review this one, like i said, lots of beer and that one chic who wanted to be smart and not a body was drop dead hot.
