Don't call me fatso!!!
gregorycanfield27 June 2022
Curious, that Loudrock kept calling Fred "fatso." Especially since Loudrock was even fatter. Unlike the other reviewer, it never occurred to me that we had both versions of Fred Flintstone's voice here. I wouldn't care to watch Fred Flintstone, unless he was voiced by Alan Reed. Henry Corden was OK as Loudrock (and some other "guest" characters.) He didn't have what it took to play Fred Flintstone. In this episode, Loudrock is another character that made only one appearance in the series. Same for Loudrock's female dog (who catches Dino's eye.) The story is a lot of fun, as Fred and Loudrock are constantly at odds. In the end, Dino becomes a father, and this causes Fred and Loudrock to become friends. However, nothing here carried over to any subsequent episodes.

Henry Corden Vs Alan Reed

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode its a real treat that both original and the new Fred Flintstones voice can be heard together. Henry Corden plays Mr. Loudrock a new neighbor of the Flintstones who really sounds like Fred Flinstone . He is doing the Fred Flintstone voice before he took over after Alan Reeds death in 77. You can really tell that Cordens Fred Flintstones voice is way different than Alan Reeds voice by comparison. Cordens version is more ruff than Alan reeds version. This episodes is a real treat to be able to hear both versions of Fred Flintstones together. After watching this episode I can say I prefer Alan Reeds version of the voice over Henrys Cordens version of the Fred Flintstones voice.
