- On a day outing with Marcello, Sister Bertrille breaks three different traffic regulations. She forces Officer Juarez to give her a ticket so show Marcello that even nuns have to obey the law or pay the price. Reluctantly, Juarez does so. This act sparks a public outcry. It also causes problems for Juarez, whose girlfriend will now not marry a person who arrests a nun, for the Mayor, who's re-election is hurt by such negative publicity, and for the judge (running on the same ticket as the Mayor) who is forced to throw the sister in jail for two days when she can't pay the fine. In jail, she is bunked with Rosita, in jail as an accessory for a robbery at Carlos' casino. Rosita thinks the sister is a police plant. However when Sister Bertrille, out in the prison yard, gets caught in an updraft and flies out of the prison yet returns to the jail to face the music, Rosita sees a woman true to a life of good. As such, Rosita confesses to Sister Bertrille that although she didn't steal Carlos' money, she does know where her boyfriend, the thief, did hide the money. Sister Bertrille tells Juarez, who finds the money. Out of jail, Sister Bertrille wants to tell the press the truth about why she was in jail. However the press spins the story to make it look like she really was planted in jail to solve the casino crime. To that, Sister Bertrille takes the fifth.—Huggo
