When Sister Bertrille asks Carlos for a deck of playing cards he's no longer using he instead gives her an unwanted pool table. With young Armando (George Spell) in trouble at the convent, Sister Bertrille talks the reverend mother into allowing it to stay and keep him out of trouble. Skilled pool player Emilio Gomez (supporting actor John Hoyt) arrives at the convent eager to see the high quality pool table. He teaches Armando how to play pool. The reverend mother says Armando's school work is suffering in favor of pool. She grants Sister Bertrille's wish for time to get the boy's attention off pool. Emilio outlines what going against a pool shark could do, but says he's retired from competition, yet second-best is Carlos. Carlos agrees to play, but is surprised to arrive and find it is Armando. Nevertheless, the sisters put money and pressure on the match as the two square off for a winner-take-all game.
