A shame, great story, poor production.

Ryder visits a prisoner in his capacity as a lawyer, believing his client Nelson to be an innocent man, during the interview Nelson tells Ryder to leave the building, he fails to heed the warning, and gets caught up in a prison riot.

When I read through the episode summaries, this was the one I was most excited about, this one bad classic all over it, but sadly, it's one of the show's weakest episodes.

The story is great, but the production of it and acting are very poor. The Captain.... I have no words be was ridiculously over the top, it's like he was playing it for laughs, Dougan also was just too over the top.

The actual riot scene was like something out of an am dram production, it looked so bad.

4/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Jeff Ryder goes to see a con called Nelson (Neil McCallum) who has been in prison for some years. Ryder is hopeful that he can get Nelson freed on appeal.

Only Nelson and other prisoners planned to stage a riot over grievances with prison conditions.

In the mayhem, other prison guards have been overwhelmed and Ryder is held hostage.

The prison warden seeks a peaceful resolution. The captain of the state trooper wants go down with all guns blazing. One skirmish leads several state troopers being killed.

Ryder wants to do right for Nelson and makes a proposal to bring their grievances to the warden and return.

There are several aspects to this story. The Warden is weak and plays second fiddle to a hard line state governor and the captain of the state troopers.

Also Nelson who might be innocent would have to take on a bloodthirsty ring leader. Given that Nelson is one of the instigators, he is never likely to emerge from this story in one piece.
