Very touching.

In this installment of "Four Star Playhouse", Charles Boyer plays Carl...a grouchy man who has grown to hate Christmas. For much of the show you aren't sure exactly why, but it all boils down to him having a falling out with his son...and as a result he makes Christmas miserable for all those around him.

This is a very good installment of an excellent series. While the story could have been schmaltzy or essentially "A Christmas Carole" all over again, it's original and enjoyable enough that it's worth seeing. And, to see it, download a free copy from archive.org.

Nice Film

BEWARE OF BOGUS REVIEWS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW. WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THAT PRODUCTION. NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY MOVIES. I HAVE NO AGENDA. I AM FARE ABOUT THESE FILMS.

Businessman Carl Baxter is a good boss for 364 days a year, but his memories of his estrangement with his son causes his mood to change at Christmas.

This is not a bad little 30 minute drama. Its a first class production with respectable actors. My major problem with it is just that it ends way too fast.

You won't be bored with this. The abrupt ending is a little jarring.
