- Narrator: [Act One Opening Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble sneaking aboard a train] One community appears much like any other to a man who travels a lot. To Richard Kimble, Fugitive, some are friendlier than others, some more colorful, but they all have one thing in common: danger.
- Narrator: [Epilog Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble, dressed as an Army Captain, driving away in a car] As a doctor, Richard Kimble was sworn to the preservation of human life. Now years later, as he travels the lonely path from city to city and state to state, the life he is searching to save is his own.
- Neil Pinkerton: Why, you're still a gentleman, Doctor, even after running for a couple of years.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Why not?
- Neil Pinkerton: She likes you and Mooney is jealous.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: She's not a very bright girl.
- Neil Pinkerton: Oh she knows what she's doing.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: No, she doesn't. She thinks this is a game.
- Neil Pinkerton: Well then she's not a very bright girl and she deserves to lose.
- Mona Ross: Thank you. He wouldn't stop.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Just what do you expect? You've been flirting with the big, bad criminals ever since you came in.
- Mona Ross: That isn't true.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Isn't it?
- Mona Ross: I didn't mean for him.
- [Glances at Mooney]
- Mona Ross: He's an animal.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Everyone's an animal. Some are just worse than others. You know what makes them that way? Other people.
- Mona Ross: Speaking from personal experience, no doubt.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: No doubt. He's no big, bad criminal.
- [Indicating Mooney]
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Happened to kill a man accidentally. But he can turn into one with a little help from people like you and you.
- [Points first to Pinkerton then to Mona]
- Neil Pinkerton: Richard Kimble, the doctor, sure. The one who strangled his wife! Now you see, Mooney, you're not the only one of us who kills people with his hands. Well, it looks like I'm less primitive than either of you.
