- Dr. Richard Kimble: What happened Gerard?
- Lt. Philip Gerard: I went after my car, I found the girl, I saw a man.
- Dr. Richard Kimble: But you can't prove it.
- [pauses]
- Dr. Richard Kimble: Well, is there anything else? I think I can still make Tully listen.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: There's nothing else. There's...
- [he pauses, realizing the irony of the situation]
- Lt. Philip Gerard: nothing I can prove.
- Narrator: [Epilog Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble aboard a bus labeled "Trans-Michigan Transit Lines] It is a never-ending pattern: buy a ticket, catch a bus, east and north, south or west, destination any town. This time maybe he'll be there, a man with one arm, and for Richard Kimble, the never-ending pattern will be ended.
- Narrator: [Act One Opening Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble driving a truck labeled "Inter-South Freight] A man on the run, convicted on circumstantial evidence of a murder he did not commit, calling himself Paul Hunter, driving relief for Inter-South Freight. This is his first trip; it will be his last. He's only a few miles away from a grim encounter with truth and irony.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: Why don't you stop running and turn yourself in, Kimble?
- Dr. Richard Kimble: There's a man I have to find. A one-armed man. When I find him, I'll turn myself in.
- Lt. Philip Gerard: Still sticking to that same tall tale? "A one-armed man killed my wife". The truth is... you're guilty not only in my eyes, but in the eyes of the law.
