[Clears throat]
Griff : "Isle of towers glass and stone. The lady waits for him alone. Ebon glass in emerald frame, pure white lillies speak her name. Blood red bane in dragon's stone. Excalibur waits for him alone."

MacBeth : I freed the sword from the stone. An *honest* man would recognize his true king, and yield.
King Arthur : You are right. It is a hard thing...
[Kneels]
King Arthur : But I yield.
Griff : [runs to Arthur's side] Arthur, no! Fight for it! YOU are the once and future king!

Griff : I don't like people breaking into my abbey.
King Arthur : Oh. A gargoyle. For a moment, I thought I was in danger.
Griff : And what makes you think you're not? London is *my* protectorate!

Stone of Destiny : You have passed the first test, Pendragon. Know that there will be others.
King Arthur : But it is MY sword!
Stone of Destiny : It belongs to the true king!... Are you still here?
[Sends Arthur and Griff away]

Hudson : You are King Arthur?
King Arthur : I am. Are you of Goliath's clan? He told me to seek you out if I came to... Manhattan.
Brooklyn : You've seen Goliath?
Lexington : Are Bronx and Elisa with him?
Broadway : When are they coming back?
Hudson : Where are they?
Griff : I met up with Goliath in London.
Broadway : Well, Elisa's mother saw them in Nigeria.
Brooklyn : Halcyon Renard saw them in Prague.
King Arthur : I met them in Avalon. Where Elisa awakened me from my enchanted sleep. Only Avalon knows when they will return.

Lady of the Lake : I had not expected see you for some time, Arthur Pendragon. What would you have of me?
King Arthur : [Kneeling before the Lady of the Lake] I need my sword, Lady. I am not whole without Excalibur.
Lady of the Lake : Excalibur serves the king who claims it, Pendragon.
King Arthur : Then *I* claim it! I am the King of Britain!
Lady of the Lake : This is not Britain, but a far larger stage. Still the world needs a leader. And the leader needs this sword. But you must prove you worth!

MacBeth : You fool! If you hadn't broken the sword, I'd have slain this beast!
King Arthur : It was not the one!

King Arthur : Griff! I need you!
Griff : Right with you, Your Majesty!
[flies over]
King Arthur : Help me get free! I know what to do!
Griff : That's the stuff!

King Arthur : I am Arthur Pendragon, King of Britain.
Griff : Uh-huh. And I'm the Queen Mum.

King Arthur : I will stay through the day. But tomorrow night, I must begin another quest: to find my friend and teacher, Merlin. And somehow, I must get Griff back to London.
Griff : The truth is, I'd rather stay with you.
King Arthur : [turns his back] Only a knighted champion can travel with me now.
Griff : [downcast] Yes. Well, I understand, of course. And it's been an adventure, a story for the hatchlings, someday...
[Arthur draws his sword and puts a hand on Griff's shoulder]
King Arthur : I could not ask for a better champion at my side.
[Glowing, Griff kneels. Arthur touches his shoulder with Excalibur]
King Arthur : By my hand, and by this sword, I name thee knight: Sir Griff.
