Charles Joseph Stone, the writer of this episode, was the brother of Milburn Stone (Doc).
The sign over the entrance to the town stables, which can be seen very briefly when Doc leaves the marshal's office, now reads "Hank Patterson, Prop." instead of Moss Grimmick. Hank Patterson is the real name of the actor who plays stableman Hank Miller.
Per the title, in some countries the weight of a dozen rolls or other bakery items was controlled, and the baker gave the customer 13 instead of 12 just in case some of the rolls were on the light side.
