Robert Wagner performs a short rendition of Gene Kelly's "Singing In the Rain." Kelly was a friend, who "came every day" after the death of Wagner's wife, actress Natalie Wood. Kelly had also experienced the tragic loss of a wife, losing his to cancer.
Two of the cast members of this episode were/are members of the American Ballet Theatre, the company that Mikhail Baryshnikov was a member and artistic director of for many years, and both members appeared with Baryshnikov in his classic television production of "The Nutcracker".
Boris Lermontov, the name of the character played in this episode by Alexander Minz, is also the name of the ballet impresario played by Anton Walbrook in the 1948 film "The Red Shoes".
