The story of Faustus is about a man who makes a deal with Mephistopheles, an agent of Lucifer (the devil), to be able to use magic for 24 years to gain wealth and worldly pleasures in exchange for his body and soul at the end of that time. The story is an allegory for the struggle between God and the devil for the souls of mankind.
