This episode appears out of sync with the series' overall storyline. The previous week's episode introduced George Baxter's sister Deirdre, who became a semi-regular. This episode introduces a sister, Phyllis, who is never mentioned again and the final episode features a never-before-mentioned brother, Steve.
"A Dog for Harold" (November 9, 1961) led to the addition of "Smiley" the dog. "Smiley" makes his first appearance since then in the kitchen as Harold and Hazel talk. Years later when Harold's parents were shipped out of the series to Afghanistan, "Smiley" never made the transition to Harold's uncle with Hazel. Strange departure for the homeless dog that was neither in Afghanistan nor with Harold's Uncle Steve Baxter.
"Harriet E. MacGibbon" played Mrs. Baxter--George Baxter's mother and Harold's grandmother. Viewers familiar with 1960s American TV remember her as Mrs. Margaret Drysdale, wife of banker Mr. Drysdale on "The Beverly Hillbillies."
The reason that George's sister, Phyllis, is never seen again in the series is that the actress playing her, Beverly Tyler, retired from acting and got married the very next year. This was her last screen appearance.
