Ares promises Strife a vague promotion if he helps wreck now mortal Hercules. After their wedding night, Hercules wakes up holding the bloody knife that killed his bride Serena. He can't remember what happened, but with an angry mob of villagers ready to lynch the hero 'turned murderer', Iolaus must urge him to flee and covers his escape, as later does an old man claiming to owe Hercules his own life. Just when Ares expects his hated half-brother to be killed by mortals, Zeus appear, invoking Hercules was asked to relinquish his powers in the Olympian king's absence.
