Wayne Newton sings

Fun to see young Wayne Newton. Craig (Desi junior) plays the drums, Kim (Lucie) dances.

Here's Wayne... and Lucie Arnaz
kgraovac26 November 2023
Wayne Newton's drummer is leaving for the Army Reserve, so Lucy gives the hard sell to have Craig step in on the skins as a replacement.

Wayne Newton is back and like the LUCY SHOW episode from Season 4, Ms. Ball throws the spotlight his way for most of this episode, which is very short on plot and heavy on the musical numbers. Newton sings "Danke Shoen", "You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You" and "Rock a Bye Your Baby".

Lucy comes across as very pushy and annoying in this episode, so Lucie Arnaz ends up the MVP in this one. She shakes her booty while lip-syncing to one of Newton's records, and duets with Wayne in the finale doing "Waiting on the Robert E Lee". It's obvious even in this early stage of the series she already has what it takes to become a Broadway star -- she's a natural and a joy to watch and makes the whole episode.
