Another One For the 'To Be Canceled' File?
kgraovac3 December 2023
When Lucy hits their truck with her car, she takes a job at a Chinese laundry to pay for the repairs.

This episode is another one like the LUCY SHOW's "Lucy and the Soap Opera" that would be considered offensive today because the script has the redhead performing Asian stereotypes.

The funniest part is when the insurance agent is informed that Lucy's policy expired right before the accident so they won't have to pay her a dime. His reaction is priceless!

The script has a few problems. The living room scene with Kim and Craig and the peach was contrived. Who the heck shares fruit that way?? And wouldn't Kim change AT HOME instead of wearing the soiled dress to the dry cleaners?

This was the first acting gig for Rosalind Chao, who would become a prolific character actress and star in AFTERMASH in 1983. Here she plays the sarcastic teenage daughter who isn't impressed by Lucy's patronizing attitude.
