It kicks off with a case about Mollusks.

Hetty Wainthropp has turned sixty, not ready to retire she takes up a job in a Post Office, but soon discovers her calling, detection. She takes waif Geoffrey on board and soon looks into the mysterious death of an old bag lady.

It's a fine debut, I see this more as the pilot than the earlier Missing Persons. It's not perhaps the greatest mystery the unusual duo solved, but it serves its purpose well. Hetty is quickly established as a Detective, and Geoffrey is quickly moved in.

The story is very different, I can't think of any other show where mollusks have featured so heavily.

Very well acted, if has a definite charm, Routledge is delightful as the straight talking amateur Detective.

It's a fine start. 8/10
