Ralph Taeger: Hondo Lane
Quotes
-
Hondo Lane : I don't think you understand, Captain. This is important to me.
Captain Richards : Well, what's that?
Hondo Lane : It's a letter.
Captain Richards : Well, I can see that, Mr. Lane! What is it? Bad news, illness in the family? Just what is it?
Hondo Lane : Well, it's not so much what's in it as who it's from.
Captain Richards : Who is it from?
Hondo Lane : It's from a dead man.
[stepping outside]
Hondo Lane : Sam, you stay here with Buffalo. This is something that came before you, even before Astartee.
-
Hondo Lane : [drinking campfire coffee with a local marshal] It's been awhile since I've been through this part of the country. I'm looking for a place called New Canaan.
Marshal Sam Bragg : It was a nice little town.
Hondo Lane : What do you mean "was"?
Marshal Sam Bragg : Fever hit it about three years ago. Killed half the folk. Other half took off and left.
Hondo Lane : You mean it's a ghost town, huh?
Marshal Sam Bragg : [nods] New Canaan. Born 1853, died 1868. May it rest in peace.
-
Col. William Quantrill : What's the matter, Hondo? Think you see a ghost?
Hondo Lane : [stunned] Colonel Quantrill.
-
Hondo Lane : It's been four years. What have you been doing all this time?
Col. William Quantrill : We've been holed up in a little Texas border town waiting for people to forget the name of Quantrill.
Dr. Leonard Zeber : That will never happen, William.
-
Hondo Lane : Why does the answer always have to come from a gun?
