The King Gets Beheaded
Hitchcoc20 September 2017
Those Raccoons. They certainly are the centerpiece of the 1950's male culture. They have a party for one of the members who happens to be marrying Alice's sister. They fill him full of all kinds of vitriol. By the way, he is an absolute dork. But Ralph can't let the idle joking be all of it. He has to give Stanley (the guy) advice on being the king of his castle and having nothing to do with his in-laws and so on. Of course, the guy takes the advice and she takes of on their wedding night. And, of course, shows up at the Kramdens. Ralph knows he's the cause and is walking a tightrope, hoping that Alice will not find out what he said. Well, we know the end of that story. It's not as funny as most episodes.

King Ralph Dispenses Advice
dougdoepke16 August 2016
Typically funny episode. Poor Lodge brother Stanley, he's just gotten married to Trixie's sister, Agnes, but is worried about how to be a proper husband. Naturally, Lodge brother Ralph is only too happy to lecture him to be nothing less than The King of His Castle, just like His Majesty Ralph. Trouble is Agnes is understandably offended and retreats to Alice for temporary shelter. Now the two wives are wondering who gave Stanley the bad advice, while an embarrassed Ralph tries to cover-up.

Catch actress Meadow's perfect deadpan as Ralph bellows out his phony commands. She's such a perfect foil for his bluster. Also, I noticed what I think is typical series staging—Notice how Ralph strides back and forth while declaiming. In short, he's on the constant move in their little apartment room. I suspect that was to divert viewers away from the confining quarters that might otherwise pall if they were sitting or standing still. See if you agree.
