This episode is featured in two scenes of Back to the Future (1985). On October 25, 1985, George McFly watches a rerun on television and is greatly amused by it, laughing for an embarrassingly long time. After travelling back in time to November 5, 1955, Marty McFly watches it with his future mother Lorraine Baines and her family, describing it as a classic. In reality, this episode aired on December 31, 1955 while The Sleepwalker (1955) aired on November 5, 1955.
When Ralph shows Alice his costume, a piece of it accidentally falls off. Jackie Gleason covers up for it by saying "Let me have that. That's my 'denaturizer.'"
The man who had the playboy golfing costume was wearing the same design sweater and socks Ralph wore in The Golfer (1955).
A scene in the original script, and subsequently written out, revealed that the work emergency phone call for Norton was actually a ruse set up by Ralph to keep him from attending the party.
The scene where Ralph does his funny dancing in the Man From Space costume is shown twice. Once from a wide shot and once from a closer up angle. The change in angle disguises the fact it was a repeated moment.
