I've never liked Mr Lawford. I remember him from those CandyGram adverts and honestly, that's probably the most humane performance of his - and even then I find him...oily.
He's the 'wannabe' the hanger-on to the Rat Pack. The hanger-on to the Kennedys, Camelot, and an idiots figure who - this is the kindest thing I can say - had (f)actually nothing to do with Marilyn Monroe's tragic demise (but; if he could possibly milk it for PR...).
Here he is - playing a role meant for him; a truly reptilian agent (from a partner nation!), who's still utterly untrustworthy.
Seeing him - sitting... lounging - in his down-to-the-waist robe with his shaggy chest visible... nauseating
Scotty and Kelly don't trust him, nor do their superiors. They're to follow him ('like a leech'), with a gun constantly aimed at his head, because they can't even trust he won't try to kill them.
It was difficult for me to watch this - because of him, but when I think about the casting, I gotta be honest and say; 'is there anytime more perfect for this role at that time?' True, they could've hired an actor, but, in a sense, they went with the real deal.
I'd bet that after reading this you'd probably think of give this episode a '1'.
I was going to, but that was simply because of howi feel about him. But that's not fair to the easy of the cast, and those who wrote and directed it.
All-in-all, there's some fun, but it's a draggy story (pun intended, but I really did mean the story drags on).
It's for those reasons I'm giving it a 7.
