- Joan: You hurt me, really bad. Why should I trust you again?
- Cute Boy God: Why did you ever?
- Joan: Look we had some good times, and I'm fine with You, ya know being the Divine 'It.' But I don't want to see You anymore. It's not You, it's me. I'm just, I'm not the girl for you. I had a taste of normal, and I really liked it. You know, I really enjoyed being optimistic, and making my lamps.
- Cute Boy God: [after Joan refuses to talk to Him or believe He's real] Don't you miss me a little?
- Joan: [lying] No.
- [whispers after a long pause]
- Joan: Please go.
- Cute Boy God: Don't you miss yourself? Because I do.
- Cute Boy God: You know I'm real, Joan. You've always known, you're not crazy. Then you got chance to see what it really looks like. Crazy is destructive, it tears down. I'm all about building up.
- Joan: Then I suggest you take up carpentry.
- Cute Boy God: What do you think this is all about?
- Joan: Uh, you I suppose.
- Cute Boy God: It's a creation, Joan. It's not a destruction. And that's what I want you to do. I want you to be creative, I want you to build things.
- Joan: I build lamps!
- Cute Boy God: Relationships, possibilities, connections.
- [Pulls a book from His jacket pocket]
- Cute Boy God: Look, have you read this?
- Joan: You stole that!
- Cute Boy God: Well, technically everything's mine.
- Joan: Here. I made this for you.
- Will Girardi: Oh! Wow. I, uh, thought we were done with the lamps.
- Joan: No, this is... this is my thing.
- Will Girardi: Okay, but-but we have a lot of lamps.
- Kevin Girardi: Take the lamp, dad, unless you want her to go nuts again. See, you can get a lot of mileage out of the crazy thing. I'd work it.
- Will Girardi: Where's your mother?
- Kevin Girardi: She left early.
- Will Girardi: And Luke?
- Kevin Girardi: Him, too.
- Will Girardi: They say where they were going?
- Kevin Girardi: Uh, mom had an errand, and Luke had a thing.
- Joan: They are so obviously CIA.
- Grace Polk: [making out with Luke] You're into overtime.
- Luke Girardi: Five more minutes.
- Grace Polk: You've used up all your minutes.
- Luke Girardi: What am I, a cell phone?
- Grace Polk: No. But you are a service provider.
- Helen Girardi: Sister Lilly was rude to me.
- Father Ken Mallory: Former Sister Lilly. She was rude?
- Helen Girardi: Yes. And she was off-putting.
- Father Ken Mallory: She was off-putting.
- Helen Girardi: Why are you repeating everything I say?
- Father Ken Mallory: Re-runs of "West Wing".
- Will Girardi: [after an angry outburst at the precinct] I'm sorry.
- Helen Girardi: That's not gonna cut it.
- Will Girardi: I'm really sorry. Is this gonna take jewelry?
- Helen Girardi: I'll tell you something, Will. You said you've always been this way, but I did not recognize the man I saw today. I had no earthly idea who he was, or what he was gonna do next.
- Will Girardi: The Bakers are suing us.
- Helen Girardi: What?
- Will Girardi: Andy Baker is suffering emotional damages, it seems. Finding it hard to work. Half a million dollars is gonna take care of that, though. I never wanted you to hear it. I wanted to make it go away, so that you never had to know that the boy who crippled our son...
- Helen Girardi: Oh, Will...
- Will Girardi: ...and who we never punished for crippling our son, is now coming after us like a common predator.
- Cute Boy God: Hi.
- Joan: I can't hear you.
- Cute Boy God: But you can see me.
- Joan: I'm ignoring you.
- Cute Boy God: I'm used to that. Okay, look. I've got a lot of time on my hands. I'll be in the religion section.
