A classic jewel of vintage TV.

Two great actors joined forces for this episode of a short-lived TV series that truly emulates a film noir like plot. John Cassavetes as Johnny Staccato (my introduction to this series) is from a different line of fandom than his female guest star in this episode, a very beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery who has the potential to be a great femme fatale in this episode. The voice is there, but that's all you will see of the future Samantha Stevens. She comes to him with a valuable necklace that was on her desk to be delivered to a certain party, and on their way, they are robbed and the necklace is gone.

She's actually married to a good friend of his who is overseas, but that doesn't stop her from falling into his arms in a way to where you begin to suspect her motives. After all, whoever finds the necklace and turns it in we'll get a reward of $20,000. Fred Beir is the insurance agent and Lionel Decker is a mysterious, shady looking man. Veteran movie villain Eduardo Ciannelli is John's which is a voice of reason, answering the question of why a man should be honest all the time. A very interesting episode with a great atmospheric intrigue.
