Looking like the Keystone Cops?
bkoganbing31 March 2016
Marc Alaimo was the kind of a guy who with his big mouth didn't near and endear himself to a lot of people. But he's good at what he does as a wheel man in various criminal enterprises. He hints at being involved in a really big upcoming caper. Naturally when Alaimo is bumped off the ever alert Lieutenant Kojak goes to work.

The key here is the kind of heist being planned and the location. Had the crooks been successful the NYPD would indeed look like the Keystone Cops as Alaimo intimated. It's quite a well planned crime, but you know the Detective Squad at Manhattan South is more than up to it.

Note good performances by Richard Jordan as the mastermind and Yvonne Craig, TV's former Batgirl who has a very key assignment of deception.

Crooks who are MUCH MUCH smarter than usual!
planktonrules9 August 2018
Apart from one stupid blunder, the baddies in this episode of "Kojak" are a lot smarter than usual. Their plan is very good...too bad there was that one blunder!

The story begins with one gang member shooting another. You later learn that he killed him because the dead guy had a big mouth and had been too talkative...so now he ain't talking any more. The problem is that the dead guy had a map and the police found the map. But how the map is related to a crime and what that crime is, the police do not understand....even into the final moments of the show.

This is a very intelligent episode and it's among the better ones. The only thing I didn't like, and it's a very small gripe, is towards the end. A guy is shot and flies as if he'd been shot with a cannon! Not exactly realistic...but otherwise exceptional.

Dark Sunday

Kojak begins sucking lollipops, after a wheel-man brags he's in on a caper which will make the NYPD more laughable than the Keystone Kops. Soon, a fellow gang member ices Artie the driver and dumps the corpse in a park. The gang member who jerked the trigger was only supposed to stash Artie out of town, so the gang leader's antsy that when Artie's body and belongings are discovered, the police will be on alert. Lt. Kojak keeps the murder out of the obits, but has no clue what the gang's target is. Loud-mouthed Artie owes a lot of people bread, and some tell Kojak's ..

The villains are rather clever, but kojack is on the case and he determined to bring to book. An average episode but still enjoyable.
