I was not particularly pleased with this episode as it has Hoagy Carmichael behaving in a most peculiar way.
Granted that he is the comic relief in the time he was with the Laramie series. But getting drunk and taking wild shots at Gary Merrill just was not within his nature.
Merrill who hasn't got the word yet that Slim and Andy Sherman's father has died is out to kill the senior Sherman because Merrill's son was killed in a stampede on a roundup the father was in charge of. Now he shifts his target to John Smith.
While Carmichael is making a fool of himself Merrill arrives at the Sherman ranch. After that it's a race against time.
Not the brightest plot Laramie ever had.
