Hank's pomposity knows no bounds
Woodyanders28 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Dissatisfied with his contract, Hank (the always great Jeffrey Tambor firing on all cylinders) threatens to leave the show. Larry (Garry Shandling in peak unctuous form) naturally thinks otherwise.

This episode derives a tremendous amount of often uproarious comic mileage from Hank's ridiculous demands and amazingly overblown sense of self-importance (he even wants his own golf cart!). Hank's awkward farewell party provides a definite comic highlight. Ditto a commercial break in which Robin Williams makes some choice cutting comments to Larry about being a guest on other talk shows around the same time he appears on Larry's show. In addition, there's a nice running gag on fibbing as a means of negotiating with network executives. Delicious acid.
