The Man Who Invented Yorkshire Funny Stuff

An episode that made you wish Compo was in it. What would he had made of Nora Batty in a nurse's uniform.

Nora is demonstrating first aid, she practiced bandages with the pharaohs. Handy for Barry who has wax in his ear.

The boys go looking for old Cyril Cooper when they read about his gardening exploits in the newspaper.

He used to put worms down Nora Batty's blouse. They never thought he would end up being a gardener.

Their search reveals that Old Coop was a rampant womaniser who left a lot of upset people behind. One distraught husband lost his wife and cat to him. He was so upset about the cat.

Meanwhile Howard has been given a present by Auntie Wainwright which is supposedly a gift from Marina. A stuffed gorilla. Soon the two dozy policemen hear about sightings of a dead body and five strange men.

Some good reflections from Clegg. Why did Maureen O'Hara always go off with John Wayne when there was a lino salesman in Yorkshire who would give it all up for her.

Good fun.

Cleggy, Truly and Billy are in search of Cyril Cooper, Coop. Nora is doing first aid, and Marina has left an unusual present at Auntie Wainwright's for Howard.

Typical Sunday teatime, light hearted jollity, I don't half miss this show on a Sunday evening, it went so perfectly with the time slot.

This did have some funny moments, Nora Batty in her Nurse's uniform (imagine if Compo were still alive,) and of course there's Howard and the Gorilla, that was funny.

As I today have Earex in both ears, I totally sympathise with Barry, apparently the volume I have watching this is making the units rattle.

7/10.
