- Maria Recinos: I had cousins, but no brothers or sisters. Do you have children, Olivia?
- Detective Olivia Benson: No.
- Maria Recinos: Don't you like them?
- Detective Olivia Benson: I love them. I would love to have a child.
- Maria Recinos: You wouldn't send her away, would you? Like my mother sent me?
- Maria Recinos: Olivia, my eyes are sleepy. Can we stop now?
- Detective Olivia Benson: I know, sweetie. I know that you're tired, honey, but you have to keep talking to me. We're getting so close, okay?
- Maria Recinos: You keep saying that, but you're not. He'll be back soon. I'll hear him on the stairs.
- Detective Olivia Benson: The stairs?
- Maria Recinos: When he comes to see me. Sometimes just his footsteps. Sometimes more. Those days, I want to die.
- Detective Olivia Benson: [after finding a photo of Maria] It's her. It's her. She said there was a picture of a garden on the wall. Are you convinced? This man is one of the worst child pornographers they've ever seen and they don't know a thing about him.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Hi, my name's Olivia. What's your name?
- Maria Recinos: Maria.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Hi, Maria. You and me are gonna talk until my friends come and get you, okay?
- Maria Recinos: Tell them to come quick.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Are you hurt, Maria?
- Maria Recinos: I'm hungry. My stomach hurts.
- Detective Olivia Benson: When's the last time you ate?
- Maria Recinos: Two days ago.
- Detective Olivia Benson: You must be starving. What about drink?
- Maria Recinos: I finished the water yesterday. Please, will you help me?
- Detective Olivia Benson: We will, sweetheart. We're gonna be there soon.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Where are you from, Maria?
- Maria Recinos: I'm from here. America.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Your English is very good. Where did you learn it?
- Maria Recinos: My mother taught me. She was a teacher.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Did she teach you at home or at school?
- Maria Recinos: At home.
- Detective Olivia Benson: But where do you go to school?
- Maria Recinos: My dad says I don't need to.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Don't you ever go to stores or to the park? Do you ever go to movies?
- Maria Recinos: I don't go out.
- Detective Olivia Benson: You have to go out sometimes.
- Maria Recinos: I stay in my room.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Maria, it's Olivia. I'm so glad you called back.
- Maria Recinos: I wasn't lying to you. You didn't have to get angry.
- Detective Olivia Benson: I wasn't angry with you, sweetheart.
- Maria Recinos: Yes, you were. Your voice was angry.
- Detective Olivia Benson: No, honey, I was just worried.
- Maria Recinos: Olivia, can I go now?
- Detective Olivia Benson: No, baby, you gotta stay with me.
- Maria Recinos: But I'm not with you.
- Detective Olivia Benson: As long as you're on the phone, you're with me, okay?
- Donald Cragen: [after Maria hangs up on Olivia when Olivia accuses her of lying] We've alerted the call center. They'll put her through if she phones again.
- Detective Olivia Benson: She won't. I was too tough on her. She calls here asking for help and I accuse her of lying.
- Donald Cragen: We had to find out. You know, there might be another explanation.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Oh, what do you mean?
- Donald Cragen: You remember Jessica, September '04? She calls 911, says she's four years old and that her mommy has stopped breathing. She gave the cops a home address, a school, even a teacher's name before she hung up. They searched, never found a single one of them. Dozens of cops tied up. Thousands of hours wasted. It was all a hoax by an 18-year-old girl.
- Maria Recinos: Please, when are you coming to get me?
- Detective Olivia Benson: Soon, Maria. You have to be brave. Did your mom send you to Richard?
- Maria Recinos: He made me promise not to tell.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Maria, listen to me. Richard isn't gonna hurt you. Did your mom send you to him?
- Maria Recinos: No. She sent me to my old dad.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Sweetheart, I don't understand. I thought Richard is your dad.
- Maria Recinos: He's my new dad. My mom and dad sold me for much money, so I belong to Richard now and I have to do what he wants.
- Detective Olivia Benson: What does he do, Maria?
- Maria Recinos: [starting to cry] I don't want to talk about it.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Does he do bad things to you?
- Maria Recinos: [crying] He hurts me a lot and then his friends hurt me so that he can take his pictures.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Nobody would invent the nightmare that she has been through. Why are you trying to poke holes in her story rather than trying to find her? Because Munch found some spook toy?
- Detective Olivia Benson: You may be right, I may be an idiot, but I am talking to this girl until I am proven wrong.
- Odafin Tutuola: [to Cragen] Honduran police just spoke to Maria's mother, Beatrice.
- Donald Cragen: But she's supposed to be dead.
- Odafin Tutuola: No, it's the daughter who's dead.
- Donald Cragen: Maria? How, for God's sake?
- Odafin Tutuola: Trying to sneak across the U.S. border to join her dad in Las Vegas. Honduran cops are getting photos from mom.
- Donald Cragen: Tell Liv. I don't know if this makes it better or worse.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Maria Recinos is dead?
- Odafin Tutuola: Her cousin was taking her to her dad's in Las Vegas, lost her in the desert when they were surprised by the border patrol.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Did they find a body?
- Odafin Tutuola: No.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Well, that's convenient. What if this cousin is a sleaze? And instead of losing her in the desert, he sells her to a pedophile?
- Odafin Tutuola: That's a bit of a stretch, Liv.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Is it? She's living with a guy who says he's her dad and she doesn't even know his last name. If Maria Recinos is dead, then who is that on the phone?
- Donald Cragen: [to Olivia] Montreal sent us more photos. Munch is going through them, looking for location cues. Fin and Sorranis are at the cell company switchboard.
- Casey Novak: And the judge has given us warrants to examine company employee files, cross-check against sex offender registries.
- Donald Cragen: We'll find this guy.
- Detective Olivia Benson: He's not gonna be on any registry. He took a girl that nobody would miss, he kept her in a place that nobody would find.
- Donald Cragen: We'll find him through the cell company. If he just hacked in, he'll still have left some trace.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Even if we catch him, he's had plenty of time to get rid of the body.
- Detective Olivia Benson: [to Richard Dwyer] You know where she is. Now, if she dies, I promise you I will make the rest of your life hell.
- [on the phone]
- Detective Olivia Benson: Maria, wake up! Maria? Maria?
- Richard Dwyer: Who is this?
- Detective Olivia Benson: This is the police. We know exactly where you are.
- [beat]
- Richard Dwyer: [sing-song] No, you don't!
- [hangs up]
