Busy thirty minutes!

Warning: Spoilers
So, let's see if I get this straight. Jessica Lawrence is working in a saloon and separated. As far as I can understand, they are not divorced. She is 'entertaining' men. There is a mentally challenged (to be politically correct) man who is in love with her, or would be if he could understand what he was feeling. She is nice to him, and appreciates that all he expects from her is a smile.

Then there is Qwert Phillips, Jessica's husband. I'm assuming she took back her maiden name even though they are still legally married, or maybe it's an alias? It may have said and I didn't catch it. Apparently Jessie used to be on the other side of the law and finally got out of it. She's gone straight, but her husband informs her that keeping silent will cost her five hundred dollars.

Enter Mite. Mite is the slow-witted man who likes to play with guns. He's really quite harmless since Sam fixed the gun so it wouldn't fire. Mite, while doing some odd jobs in the bank, overheard Jessie, whom he's in love with, ask the banker for a loan. Then Mite steals $500. It's doubtful he can count that high, so did he have help? Qwert is in Jessie's room when Mite comes to give her the money. He takes the money and sends Mite on his way.

I think I got everything straight. At the end, Sam tells Mite he gets a thousand dollar award. So my question is what happens then? Does Sam take the money off of Qwert's person and take it back to the bank? All is dropped and forgiven? Or is it understood that Mite will pay the bank back out of his reward money?
