After a shot is heard an old prospector Billy Buckett calling himself Billy Buckett Incorporated stumbles into Mr. Rickabaugh's saloon holding his head where he was shot. He mumbles that $50,000 was stolen from him and that he has been murdered. They take him into a back room where Dr. Goodfellow who was there treats him. Billy has three visitors in a row - Paul Scott, Jack Morrow and finally Hetty Doane. Billy tells Scott that Morrow robbed him. Once he is coherent he tells Earp that he has a mine south of the border where he struck gold. He changed the gold nuggets into $50 gold pieces at Paul Scott's bank in Tucson. Scott, Morrow, and Doane are all equal shareholders in Billy Buckett Incorporated. Earp is not sure whether to believe Billy but when he and Hetty Doane find Morrow murdered and hung in a warehouse, he becomes serious about solving the case. Billy had said he was shot from a distance but when he complained about powder burns, Earp realized the truth.
