Two old friends of Mad Jack(Denver Pyle) named Gus(played by Jack Elam) and Gerty(played by Fran Ryan) show up in the valley of James "Grizzly" Adams(Dan Haggerty) looking to find him. Jack is at first delighted to see these two old friends, but then their old rivalry heats up, which results in a competitive race that sees Jack lose possession of faithful burro Number Seven. Despondent, Adams comes up with an idea for Jack to get Number Seven back by having him issue another challenge to Gus & Gerty that will turn out differently with a little help from their animal friends...Fun if slight episode takes a welcome focus on lovable old Number Seven for a change.
