A cinema marquee advertises My Fellow Americans (1996) starring James Garner as former U.S. President Matt Douglas. The President whom Tempus defeats in the election is named Garner.
William Christopher (Andrus) appears in the first part of a two-episode story arc. Though they don't appear in the same episode of the two-parter, he and Hamilton Camp (H. G. Wells) appeared together in M*A*S*H (1972).
Despite Tempus's numerous appearances on this series, this episode is in a sense the only time he and Clark meet. In "Tempus Fugitive" Clark only briefly exchanges words with Tempus, and even this encounter is wiped from Clark's memory by H. G. Wells minutes later. Most of "Tempus Anyone?" is set in a parallel universe which the mainline Clark never goes to. In "Soul Mates" Lois and Clark battle past incarnations of Tempus, but never the Tempus who was born in Utopia. Finally, as with "Tempus Anyone?", the mainline Clark is largely absent from "Lois & Clarks", only getting a glimpse of Tempus during the press conference near the end of the episode.
Lois Lane always wore her watch on her right wrist until this episode when she suddenly started wearing it on her left wrist. She continued to wear it on her left wrist through the end of the series.
