Crooked lawyer Luther Gage has a scheme where his henchmen tunnel right into the profitable mine next to his worthless one, and steal the ore right out of it and into his. He has a big advantage as he is the manager for the rich mine. Mrs Farnum owns that rich mine and is the victim. She sends her son, mining engineer Jim, to investigate. She also asks The Ranger and Tonto to investigate as well. Jim meets pretty newspaper woman Mary Tanner on the stage but narrowly escapes death at the hands of a sharpshooter sent by Gage. The Ranger and Tonto have their work cut out for them trying to figure this one out. Pretty Claudia Barrett plays Mary. Gene Roth departs from his usual villain roles and plays an honest blacksmith. Robert Shayne is Luther Gage. He, of course, is best known for his role as Inspector Henderson on the Superman TV series. Gil Donaldson is Jim Farnum. He was in an episode from season 3, "Outlaws in Uniform," playing a Hispanic. He also played a Hispanic in the 1950 Gary Cooper western "Dallas." This is a good, entertaining episode with fine acting by all.
