Dangerous Gold

The Ranger and Tonto find their old friend Sheriff Gilbert stabbed in the back. The only clue is a spur found at the scene of the crime. It seems someone is trying to get Miss Sally's gold mine away from her and killing the sheriff is part of the plot. Sally's foreman Dusty Duncan is missing a spur, but The Ranger is sure someone is trying to frame him. This slick operator Jeff Barnes wants to buy Sally's mine. This will be a tough case to solve.

Margaret Field plays Sally. She was the mother of Sally Field. A few years after making this episode, Margaret married cowboy star Jock Mahoney. After that, she was credited as Maggie Mahoney.

All the gold...

An unsuspecting sheriff is stabbed in the back. The Lone ranger finds his body and is able to figure out what happened (isn't it amazing how quickly the exact scene can be figured out without much thought?) While still there, three men come upon the scene and start accusing The LR and Tonto of the killing. A lost spur is the only clue he has.

So I've said from the beginning that the fight scenes are just laughable. The last fight scene in this episode was just beyond...Such dramatic fighting that could never really happen in real life! I did like the secret door...
