Very Well Acted Episode

When The Lone Ranger went to color starting with the fifth season, the opening title sequence had to be reshot in color. Notice how smoothly Clayton Moore draws and fires his pistol as he is riding hard. In the black and white opening title sequence, Moore has to steady the pistol against his side for just an instant to get a good grip before he starts firing. You have to watch for it to notice it. In this episode, The Ranger and Tonto are in Panamint to help Marshal Bell stand up against an outlaw gang. The marshal's girlfriend seems to be his only true supporter in the town. This episode is noteworthy for the excellent acting by character actors Barbara Knudsen, Don C. Harvey, and Rand Brooks as Marshal Bell. All are really believable and make this good episode even better.
