The Ranger and Tonto try to find out why a fine young man like Charlie Judd has started hanging around with outlaws. Charlie is an Indian orphan who was raised by Mary Judd as if he were her own son. Mary's heart is broken by her son's actions, and he won't tell her why he has suddenly changed so much. Charlie joins Bart Walton and Steve Cramer in robbing the express office. Sheriff Jim Dixon and Deputy Joe Blake are unable to find any evidence to arrest the bad guys. Could they have inside information? During this episode, The Ranger, Tonto, and Steve Cramer all take turns following Charlie around. What is really going on here? Harry Harvey Sr. plays Sheriff Jim Dixon. During the same time period, he was also playing Sheriff Tom Blodgett in many episodes of The Roy Rogers Show. He must have been a born lawman.
