Who's pants are these?

When this episode begins, we see something that was probably unheard of in most Western television shows back in the fifties and sixties, and probably in the real West as well. A man was doing domestic work while his wife went looking for cattle rustlers. But when the Lone Ranger becomes involved, he has a tendency of putting wrong things right, and of course we know he succeeds in every episode.

Though watching this man become a...man...is entertaining, I think the most entertaining part is when the he and the LR go into the cabin where the rustles are holding Tonto and a fight happens. But we can just hear it - reminds me of some other real episodes where sound effects are letting us assume what's going on.

Though none actually died in this episode, I'm thinking that we can name one dead and another now alive.

This Casper Isn't A Friendly Ghost!

This a great Season 1 episode. It will put a smile on your face as long as you keep reminding yourself that it was made in 1950. Casper Dingle's ranch is having its cattle rustled. His wife Maud runs the ranch and keeps him totally henpecked. She and the ranch hands make him feel like a mouse rather than a man. While Maud and the boys are out hunting the rustlers, The Ranger and Tonto arrive at the ranch and go about making Casper the man of the house. The Ranger teaches him to shoot while Tonto goes to town seeking a man with red clay on his boots, their clue as to who the rustlers are. Tonto finds two such men and follows them to their secret hideout in a canyon. He is captured, but manages to send Scout back to The Ranger. Casper and The Ranger follows Scout to the secret canyon and locate the rustlers. It's going to be a big battle to free Tonto and capture all three rustlers. Will Casper be a man or a mouse? That is the question. One thing is sure: it's fun to root for Casper. Just sit back and enjoy it!
