Isn't That Pete Malloy?

19-year old Martin Milner made this LR episode the year after making "Sands of Iwo Jima" with John Wayne. In this episode he plays Dick McHenry who finds a huge gold mine with his partner Ed Dudley. But nasty gamblers Zack Carter and Sam Hovey waylay Dick on his way to register the claim and shoot him in the back. The Ranger and Tonto find him seriously wounded. They have to save Dick's life, register the claim for Ed and Dick, notify Dick's father of his wound, AND round up these dirty nasty gamblers. That's a mighty tall order, even for The Lone Ranger and Tonto. Hopefully, young Dick will survive and recover well enough to go to Los Angeles and become Officer Pete Malloy of the LA PD on the TV series Adam-12.
