Outlaw leader Bat Larson is in jail awaiting trial. Cafe owner Mrs. Mack is the witness that can put a noose around his neck. Larson's gang is trying all kinds of tricks to free him. The Ranger knows Larson isn't smart enough to think up all this skulduggery, and suspects that someone in town is actually the leader of the gang. A break comes when The Ranger and Tonto foil a kidnapping attempt of Silas Hartwell, Mrs. Mack's brother. Suspicion falls on Frankie, the relief telegraph operator. Maybe the good guys can use him to flush out these varmints! A clean shaven Paul Brinegar plays Frankie. It would be a few years before he signed on as trail cook Wishbone on the popular western TV series "Rawhide." Anne O'Neal plays the feisty Mrs. Mack. She also played the titular character in episode 15 of season 1, "Old Joe's Sister." This one is an entertaining episode with a lot of expert fast riding and buggy driving by the stunt men.
