Two Lone Rangers In One Episode
hogwrassler1 September 2021
The Ranger and Tonto are investigating reports of Indians armed with the latest Springfield rifles ambushing cavalry patrols. After rescuing Lt Haines and his small patrol from some renegades, the Ranger suspects someone at Fort Maddox of selling army rifles to the renegades. Storekeeper Asa Jones is in cahoots with post commander Major Jones to run guns to the Indians. But how to prove it?

John Hart makes his first LR appearance as an unnamed sergeant. He has a few scenes with Clayton Moore as The Ranger. For season 3, Hart replaced Moore as The Ranger when Moore asked for a salary increase. But the audience wouldn't accept Hart as the masked man and Moore returned the following season, presumably at a higher salary. Clayton Moore and John Hart were good friends and their friendship continued even though Hart took Moore's job for one season.

This is a very good episode, made truly memorable as the first LR appearance of John Hart.

there are no spoilers in this episode

Warning: Spoilers
unless you don't know the ranger and Tonto always succeed in their endeavors, there are no spoilers.

in this episode, the lone ranger of the future episodes plays a sergeant in the army. that is interesting. and gene Roth plays the bad guy, like he does in every third or fourth episode. Stanford jolley also plays a bad guy. it is possible he never played anything but a bad guy, but t would take a lot of movie watching to verify that suspicion. Indians are attacking somebody with army rifles, and the ranger and Tonto are going to find out how they got them. what surprised me was that the ranger could speak some Indian tribal language, and Tonto, (is this a spoiler?) is an Indian who doesn't speak the Indian tribal language. the language includes some real funky sounding words, too. i hope this review doesn't disqualify me from IMDb. peace, love, and Ali bombaye!
