A rescue plot to clear the name of a rustler
The_Light_Triton28 June 2014
In this old tale of the lone ranger, The notorious madden gang has been rustling cattle all over the county, and leaving the bodies of their victims in the wake. However, their leader is behind bars, for a very, very long time.

So in retaliation, the gang kidnaps the son of a rancher, named Jim Patrick, and will exchange his life back to his father in exchange for their leader.

Meanwhile, A former rustler, Fred Vance and his wife are hoping to settle in the county, but not all the ranchers are convinced Vance is reformed.

So, in everyone's darkest hour, the Lone ranger and tonto arrive to save the day. Their plan? Help Fred Vance clear his name with the county by rescuing Jim Patrick.

This one's public domain, there's not much to say, it's a regular hack plot...NO, no, no, no, no wait just one moment, there is something very, very special about this one episode of the lone ranger.

You know who Jim Patrick is? That young man tied to the tree? Dickie Jones. Pinocchio's voice actor for the 1940 animated film. Can you believe at one point, that guy was looking into a microphone and saying "I'm a real boy!" which so many children, young and old have heard, some many times over? Yeah, that's all that's special about this one. Oh by the way, as of June 2014, Mr. Jones is still alive.

EDIT; Dickie Jones passed away 9 days after I originally posted this review.

Even when your right your wrong

A lot more really cheesy fighting. I got a little confused at who was winning and loosing a couple times...

The Vance's found themselves caught int he middle of a lot of trouble. Not only did they risk wrath from the Madden Gang, but the ranchers who wanted to fight against the gang warned them to get out. Apparently it was rumored that Mr. Vance was a rustler himself.

Like always, the Lone Ranger had his own opinion of things. He believed Vance was one of the good guys and asked him to help.

Everything turned out okay in the end of course. I loved the Lone Ranger's way of taking care of business again in this one.

Hard Riding & Shooting

This is an excellent first season episode. The Ranger and Tonto have been trailing the Madden Gang for weeks. The gang leader has been captured and is in jail, but the gang kidnaps leading rancher Tom Patrick's son Jim. They want to trade him for Madden. The ranchers, led by Patrick, are ready to go after the gang. New rancher Fred Vance wants to join them, but Patrick knows he was in jail for rustling and threatens to hang him along with the rustlers. The Ranger believes Fred was innocent and gets him to join he and Tonto. The three of them have to keep the ranchers from riding into an ambush while rescuing Jim. The episode plays out more like a B-western movie than a TV show. There is a lot of outdoor action with hard riding and shooting. Watch for the scene where a horse at full gallop appears to run right into the camera filming the scene. There are quite a few thrills and excitement and this one is entertaining for kids and adults alike.

Rustler's Hideout

With the Cavendish saga over and done with. The story moves of for The Lone Ranger.

Fred Vance was accused of rustling but pleads his innocence. He and his wife plan to settle on some new land and move on with their lives.

Fred refuses to change his name. When rancher Jim Patrick has his son kidnapped by the Madden gang.

Jim goes to Vance for help but changes his mind when he learns of Vance's identity.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto also plan to rescue Patrick's son and they realise they need Vance's help.

The Lone Ranger seemed to be more forgiving of Vance shooting at them.

This one is a hokey tale, righting wrongs, some action scenes. The formula has been established.
