Tug Spencer was an innocent man hanged for murder in San Pablo Prison. Tug was framed by dishonest lawyer Hague and brutal Deputy Jackson. The Ranger and Tonto meet new parolee Danny Yorke on his way to deliver Tug's pet bird to Tug's daughter Nora. After hearing Danny's story, The Ranger and Tonto decide to help Danny and Nora clear Tug's name. All the characters are aware that of a rumor that the now closed San Pablo prison contains a secret treasure of Spanish gold. Only Tug knew the location of the treasure and the secret is revealed in a letter to Nora concealed in the bird cage. Hague and Jackson want the gold also. That means a showdown at the closed prison inside Tug's old cell. Gail Davis plays Nora. A few years after this episode, she would star in her own western series, "Annie Oakley."
